ick...ick...ICK

Monsoon showers can usually be seen coming, or felt. Last night Rachel and I went to Commercial Street (it's exactly what is sounds like, shops shops shops). She needed to pick up a tailored blouse, shoes and a gift and I went along for the heck of it. After shopping, and re-tailoring the blouse, we went to Subway (Eat Fresh!). With four guys working behind the counter, Henry Ford would be very disappointed. Each guy was dedicated to one sandwich. No assembly line aspect, and it took forever!
So by the time I started munching on my Italian BMT, the rains came. And didn't stop. And it poured. Drainage on the streets is...wait, what am I saying....there is no drainage. Soon the waters were 3-4 feet wide and 6 inches deep in most parts (streets aren't convex like back home). Ok, so water is water. Even with us riding on Rachel's scooter, it's just water. You can't get wetter than wet. Except, water isn't the only thing that's running the river. I won't go into it, but...ick!! I may have to toss my shoes and socks out. Hopefully I can keep the pants. Ick.
Ironically, my head and torso remaind dry thanks to Rachel's umbrella. And, yes, I held it up while riding on the back of her scooter, too. Funny picture that must have been.
I took a shower when I got home.
It stopped raining about 3 hours ago. Looks like more on the way.
